The North is Calling Raffle

Privacy Policy

How H4BC Hunt.Gather.Conserve. Society handles your personal information on northiscalling.ca and in this raffle. Last updated October 7, 2026.

1. Who we are

This website, northiscalling.ca, is run by H4BC Hunt.Gather.Conserve. Society (“H4BC”, “we”), a BC society (S0073126) and the holder of BC Gaming Event Licence #177246 for The North is Calling raffle. We follow BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

2. This website

  • You can read this website without giving us any personal information. It has no sign-up forms and does not sell tickets.
  • Like most websites, our web host records basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) in server logs to keep the site secure and working.
  • We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
  • If you email or phone us, we use your details only to answer you.

3. Buying tickets through RaffleNexus

Tickets are sold at tickets.northiscalling.ca by our ticketing provider, Raffle Nexus Canada Inc. When you buy, RaffleNexus collects your name, contact details and payment information, and checks your physical location to confirm you are in British Columbia, as provincial gaming rules require. Payment card details are handled by RaffleNexus’s payment processor; H4BC never sees or stores your card number.

Your purchase on that site is covered by the RaffleNexus Privacy Policy and RaffleNexus Terms of Use.

4. What H4BC receives and why

RaffleNexus shares ticket purchasers’ names, contact details, ticket numbers and order details with H4BC. We use them only to:

  • contact winners and deliver prizes;
  • answer your questions, refund requests and complaints;
  • keep the records of ticket purchasers that BC’s Independent Gambling Control Office requires us to keep, and report to it.

If you win, your first initial, last name, town and ticket number are posted on the winners list, as allowed under the Rules of Play.

5. We don’t sell your information

H4BC does not sell, rent or exchange any personal information collected from our supporters with any other organization or entity. We share it only with service providers who help us run the raffle (such as RaffleNexus), with BC’s Independent Gambling Control Office, or where the law requires it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep raffle records only as long as we need them for the purposes above and for as long as gaming regulations and the law require. After that they are securely destroyed.

7. Your rights and questions

You can ask to see or correct the personal information H4BC holds about you, or ask a question about this policy, by emailing secretary@huntersforbc.ca or calling 250-859-2286. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC at oipc.bc.ca.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
